Program Committees
consist of a Chairperson plus one member per Area. They are
advisors to the Board of Directors. These committees are also active
at the Division level.
The Communications Committee
- Disseminates information among members and the public.
- Provides volunteer opportunities, support and reporting efforts
to the community.
- Recognizes Retired Teachers Week, Day of the Teacher, members of
note, and others.
- Co-ordinates community services, and projects.
The Insurance Committee
- Provides insurance, Medicare and Social Security information to
members.
- Refers members to HICAP for health insurance information.
- Reviews and studies proposed insurance programs.
The Resource Services Committee
- Provides members with information about community and government
resources to assist members.
- Provide information on a wide variety of topics to help meet
members' needs.
The Membership Committee
- Promotes membership by recruiting new non-renewing members.
- Encourages divisions to share successes in member recruitment
and retention.
The Legislation Committee
- Proposes, supports and responds to legislation that could affect
the interests of retired educators.
- Works cooperatively with CalRTA members, groups and other
organizations to develop and promote the Associations' legislative
program.
